A woman from Taiwan has given birth to a baby girl on a China Airline flight. She gave birth en-route from Bali to Los Angeles, USA.
The woman named Jian gave birth six hours after the plane had taken off from Bali, which the flight generally takes 19 hours. Jian gives gave birth by a favour from dr. Angelica Zen and several flight attendants on October 8th 2015. She delivered the 36 weeks old-baby at 30,000 feet from sea level.
“It was very difficult. We had to conduct the labour process in a limited situation,” dr. Angelica Zen said according to Dailymail.
30 minutes after the childbirth, the pilot landed the plane at Anchorage Airport which was the nearest airport at the time. Jian was claimed to be on the flight without certificate from the doctor who had allowed her to be on flight with her pregnancy.
What draws many people’s attention is that the woman is reportedly to have refused to lay down for the labour for a while. She also asked if she was already in the USA zone.
It somehow becomes a concern because she allegedly flew to the US only to deliver her baby in the Uncle Sam country. As a result, she is deported back to Taiwan without the baby and might be fined of 30,000 USD or around IDR 406,000,000.
Now the baby has obtained the US citizenship and lives in Jian friend’s family that lives in Alaska. The baby girl is considered to be too young to be flying on a flight.
