Soon enough Bali will have an international standard-stadium. Bali Vice Governor, I Ketut Sudikerta stated this year (2016) they will start building the stadium, if everything goes well.
“The DED (Detail Engineering Design) and FS (Feasibility Study) are done. I will bring the documents to Jakarta next week. As for the stadium location will be in Pecatu,” said Sudikerta in Denpasar last Thursday (7/01/2016).
According to Sudikerta as quoted by Liputan6.com, it will take a budget of around 2-3 trillion from central APBN (The Indonesian Budget) to build the stadium.
Bali Province Government has provided 24 hectares of land within Pecatu area. “Six hectares for building the stadium, and the rest would be used to build supporting facilities. Just like Singapore which built its stadium using 30 hectares of land,” explained the Former Badung Vice Regent.
He believes the development of the stadium will give a positive economic impact towards its surroundings, such as in hotels, transportations, culinary and others.
“There would be many people occupying the hotels around the area, and the same goes for transportation and others. Tourism is not merely about culture, as it should be as well supported by other things, well, one of them is sports tourism,” Sudikerta pointed out.
