If you have been searching and searching for where to stay in Amed and just haven’t been able to navigate the deep waters of villas, hostels, resorts, hotels and guesthouses, have no fear.. I am here to help.

Amed still remains pretty untouched by tourists, making it one of the most peaceful spots on the island.

Ideal for those wanting to experience the ‘real Bali’, you can see locals going about their daily life, visiting the temples and having grand ceremonies.

A real hotspot for divers and snorkelling, Amed is – in my opinion – one of the must-visit places in Bali.

Take a look at this breakdown of Amed neighbourhoods and see what each one offers.

Jl. I Ketut Natih – A Great Neighbourhood for Everyone

Jl. I Ketut Natih is one of the main streets in Amed that leads from the heart of the town to the ocean shore.

Dotted with restaurants, local warungs, mini-markets and amenities, you can easily find anything you need in just a short drive.

For the adventurous among us, there are dive centres, companies offering adventure tours and trekking routes!

And for those – like me – who just like to laze around in the sun and take wandering strolls, you can find cute cafes, spas, and beachfront bars where all you need to do is relax..

If you are travelling with a mix of thrill-seekers and lazy bones, then this is one of the best Amed areas to base your getaway.

Final thoughts

And, there you go! A list of the best places to stay in Amed, with some tips of what to do and where to do it!

Although it tends to appeal more to those who are interested in diving and snorkelling, there is still so much to do on-land.

Explore the vast countrysides and rolling mountains on intense hikes, or even climb Mount Agung!

Being on the more chill side on the scale, I would love to take a trip here to get away from the bustling crowds of the South and enjoy some real island village time.

You can catch me at Villa Bukit Malas 1 very soon! Even the name appeals to me, malas means lazy!
