Argentinian Cuisine for the Masses
Batubara
The total opposite of everything you’d expect in Ubud, Batubara is a meat feast!
Creating a relaxed atmosphere in their modern restaurant, they serve up some of the most tender and succulent meat on the island.
You will be presented with a board of cuts to choose from – much like choosing your own fish in a seafood restaurant, and the side dishes are just as delicious as the main meal.
At the centre of Ubud, it is a great place to go for carnivores.
Restaurant with a Cause
Fair Warung Bale
The huge menu and unbelievably tasty food isn’t my main reason for including Fair Warung Balé – although it is a bonus.
This Ubud restaurant uses its proceeds to help support and provide free health care to the local people of Bali. 1 meal = 2 free medical treatments!
They also help young adults, between 14-22 years old, to learn about the working environment, immersing them into jobs to give them skills and knowledge for the future. The initiative is enough to have me ordering multiple meals, and I hope it encourages you too!

Ubud has a hub of restaurants that often get forgotten because of the hippy, vegan vibe that comes along with the area. I hope this has shone a light on all the hotspots!
