You don’t need to pay big bucks in a private villa to be able to enjoy an incredible pool experience. There are hotels in Bali that have the most breathtaking pools where you can relax, take in scenic views and enjoy the island’s tropical weather.
From the cliff sides of Uluwatu to the jungle views of Ubud, I have compiled a list of the best hotel pools in Bali that make you wish you never have to leave.
Grab your pen and paper and get ready to note down these hotel pools in Bali worth seeing.
Multi-level, Jungle Infinity Pool
Hanging Gardens of Bali
I wanted to start off strong with one of the most luxurious hotels in Ubud, and famous hotel pools in Bali – Hanging Gardens of Bali.
The jungle resort features a 2-level infinity swimming pool that faces out over thick jungle treetop views. A beautiful place for an Instagram photoshoot or just a lazy day in the sun, the glistening water reflects the bright sun luring you in for a refreshing dip.
Easily one of the most well-known jungle pools in Bali thanks to its Instagram fame, Hangings Gardens of Bali is a must-visit spot for every infinity pool lover.
Magical Black Sand Views
The Hotel Komune Resort and Beach Club in Keramas has 2 of the most beautiful and luxurious pools I have ever seen.
The first runs the length of the resort, with direct access for those staying in the resort’s pool suites. An impressive infinity swimming pool that looks over lush lawns and scenic ocean views, the guests are able to dip into the refreshing water right from their suite.
The second pool is located within the Komune Beach Club. Think Mediterranean-chic with its bright blue tiles and perfectly oval shape. Sitting at the edge of the property just steps from the sand and ocean, it is an incredible beachside pool in Bali where you can relax and soak in the sun.
Hidden Gem, Three-tier Pool
One of Bali’s best kept secrets, Amankila is hidden away in a peaceful scenic village of Karangasem. On a hillside looking out to unbeatable ocean views, the expansive resort is luxurious and exclusive.
Each of the private villas feature their own swimming pools ranging from infinity pools to seaside pools, and the beach club has a huge sprawling swimming pool surrounded by towering tall palm trees and comfortable sunbeds. However, it is the main pool that I really want to highlight.
Amankila has a three-tier infinity swimming pool at the heart of its resort, a real showstopper for every guest. From the poolside bales and sunbeds you can survey the mountain ranges of the landscape, look out over endless ocean views and splash into the cool waters at every level. It is by far one of the best infinity pools in Bali.
Most Luxurious Hotel Pool in Bali
The Mulia
Flanked by grand statues of Balinese women harvesting rice, The Mulia Bali is one of the pools in Bali with an air of royalty. Just one of the five swimming pools within The Mulia Bali Resort, the ‘Oasis Pool’ faces out over the white sand beach and blue oceans of Nusa Dua. Surrounded by sunbeds and private cabanas, guests of the resort enjoy exclusive access.
The Mulia Bali also has the ‘Ocean Pool’ with stunning views and a swim-up bar, the ‘Ladies Courtyard’ which features more soaring statues of Balinese women carrying flowers for daily prayer, the ‘Splash Pool’ for kids, the ‘Courtyard’ which sits at the front of the resort and basks in the sun throughout the day, and finally the ‘Aqua Pool’ which offers a bit more intimacy and privacy for The Mulia Bali guests.
If you love the water and relaxing around the pool on hot tropical days, then The Mulia Bali Resort is the perfect accommodation spot for you. A different pool for every day.
Ubud’s Only Pool Club
Chapung Sebali
A lavish jungle resort in the heart of Ubud, Chapung Sebali is home to the famous Jungle Fish Pool Club.
Perched on the hillside at the same height as towering treetops, it is a luscious and tropical pool experience where you can lounge, swim and dine among the jungles. The Jungle Fish infinity pool is a staggering 35m long! Ideal for those who love to swim lengths or challenge their friends to races.
One of the best hotels with an infinity pool in Bali for its stunning scenery and luxurious setting, Chapung Sebali should be at the top of your list for a Ubud stay. You can enjoy a private villa pool as well as the picturesque pool club.
Clifftop Infinity Pool
Suarga Padang Padang
Suarga Padang Padang is a modern and sustainable resort along the surf coasts of Uluwatu.
Sitting beside the luxurious and open restaurant, Suarga Padang Padang’s infinity swimming pool sits in the sun with expansive views. A freeform design with light tiles and a wooden decking, it is a great spot for enjoying the island heat and catching a magical sunset.
It’s close proximity to Padang Padang beach makes it surfer’s paradise. When you aren’t tackling the challenging waves you can lounge around in the sun, enjoying the waves crashing in the distance.
Suarga Padang Padang’s private villas each have their own pools, all with equally as beautiful views.
Most Entertaining Pool in Bali
As a child I often played in the Hard Rock Cafe swimming pool, and thought it was the best place on earth. With water slides, in-pool cabanas, a sandy shore for volleyball and powerful waterfalls, it is fun for the whole family!
On the main street of Kuta, sitting directly opposite the beach, the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel is an iconic establishment, and has an impressive pool to match. You can spend a luxurious day cooling off in the water, and snacking from the poolside restaurant. They host competitions, volleyball tournaments and swimming races.
Get hooked up with one of the private cabanas, and lounge beside one of the biggest hotel pools in Bali.
Treetop Infinity Pool
The Padma Ubud infinity pool is one of the most majestic and architecturally beautiful pools in Bali. The curved edges seem to be mimicking rolling ocean waves, yet the water runs over the edge to luscious jungle views.
Far from the crowds in the hills of Ubud, Padma Ubud is a romantic escape surrounded by treetops and hilly terrain. The resort features three swimming pools – the main heated infinity pool, a smaller more intimate waterfall pool and a kids pool. Each overlooking the same unbelievable vibrant views, every pool is worth a dip.
Sprawling Beachside Hotel Pool
Soori Bali
Soori Bali is one of the most elegant and lavish resorts I have ever seen – and the pool perfectly matches the vibe.
Just metres from the dark sands of Tanah Lot beach, the infinity pool has sweeping views of lush gardens and crashing waves. Spend a long sunny day relaxing on the lounging sun beds, refreshing in the water and looking out over the incredible views. With the restaurant just steps away, you can enjoy tasty snacks from the comfort of your bed.
I think this may be my favourite hotel pool in Bali for the serene atmosphere and amazing surroundings!
The Most Unique Pool in Bali
The Edge Bali
As the name suggests, The Edge Resort sits on the cliff’s edge of Uluwatu. Far above the rocky ocean shore, there are two pools in the luxury resort – 1 in the hotel, and 1 at oneeighty° pool club. Both stunningly bright and glistening in the perfect tropical sun, this cliffside paradise is an unforgettable experience. Book yourself in for a stay, or just stop by for a day at the club.
It’s the oneeighty° pool that is super special.
Unlike any other infinity pool in Bali, the oneeighty° pool hangs over the edge of the cliff with a glass bottom and sides. Floating 162m above the turquoise ocean, it is a truly unique and magnificent sight when you dive under the water and see the crashing waves below.
Just take a seat on the in-pool bench and bask in the sun. oneeighty° is a magnificent pool in Bali!
Best Pool in Kuta for Sunset
Kuta may have lost its title as the heart of Bali’s tourist action, but that doesn’t take away the fabulous and amazing pools in the area.
The Sheraton Kuta Resort is located just across the street from the beach and has an infinity pool overlooking tall palm trees. Combining cosmopolitan life with island style, you can enjoy basking in the heat beside the pool when you aren’t shopping at nearby Beachwalk.
The freeform style pool and wooden decking is a beautiful setting for catching a magical sunset.
Multiple Stunning and Luxurious Pools
Bvlgari Resort
I’m not sure there is a strong enough word to describe the magnificence of Bvlgari Resort. It’s luxurious, decadent, lavish, extravagant – and every other similar adjective.
On a cliff’s edge in Uluwatu, The Bvlgari Resort features some of the most astounding hotel pools in Bali. That’s right, POOLS. Sparkling infinity pools, private luxury villa pools and sunny wooden deckings are the perfect, serene setting for enjoying the island sun.
Neighboured by an open air restaurant and bar, the Bvlgari Resort has some of the most stunning pools in Bali.
Best Party Pool in Bali
Everyone knows Potato Head Beach Club, but did you know they also have serviced suites? Katamama has the same unique design as the beach club, while being sustainable and leaving minimal environmental impact.
As with many of the resorts on the island, Hotel Katamama features numerous pools. My personal favourite is the smaller, unsymmetrical pool beside the apartment complex. With 2 hexagonal pools connected by a small ‘stream’ like length, it is the quieter option.
There is also a more lavish pool, surrounded by tiered wooden decking and towering trees for a jungle-style retreat.
If you are looking for a party vibe, head over to the beach club, ocean view pool. The pounding music and fellow partiers ensure you have a good time.
Most Serene Infinity Pools in Bali
Munduk Moding Coffee Plantation
In the north of Bali, hidden in wild jungles, Munduk Moding Coffee Plantation is a beautiful nature resort with sprawling infinity swimming pools, and a quaint jacuzzi.
Encompassed by trees and traditional coffee plantations, you can bask in the cool waters with unbeatable views of the resort. Lounge, soak and relax in a luxurious environment with your loved one on a romantic escape, or solo for a tranquil retreat.
Set among the mountain terrain of Singaraja, the resort has some of the most incredible infinity pools in Bali.
Sprawling Glistening Pool in Nature
Patal Kikian Villas are just breathtaking. Situated in a rural area of Sidemen, among the hilly mountain range, it is one of the most remarkable resorts on the island. Their glimmering infinity swimming pool sits front and centre to the outstanding valley and mountain views.
Seemingly etched into the landscape, the water from the pool appears to run into the valley itself. From the wooden decking beside the pool you can lounge on the comfortable sun beds to sit and marvel at nature’s beauty.
Easily one of the most beautiful hotel pools in Bali, Patal Kikian Villas is a relatively unknown yet deserving resort.
Paradise Pool in Luxury
Among the treetops of Gianyar’s jungles, the Viceroy Bali Resort has a dazzling infinity pool perched on the hillside. With thatched roof poolside bales, and reclining sun beds, you can immerse yourself in the luxury of the resort overlooking thick luscious views.
Romantic, scenic and lavish, Viceroy Bali Resort is a paradise retreat where you can soak in the sun and dip into the cool waters.
You will definitely want your camera for this one!
Best Family Pool in Seminyak
Known for being ultra-sumptuous and opulent, the W Bali Resort sits on the beachfront of Seminyak with beach clubs, cocktail lounges, beautiful suites and luxury villas.
Great for a first-time trip to Bali, the W Bali Resort is packed with sprawling common pools, and private plunge pools. The most popular is the huge twisting and turning tiered pool at the heart of the resort. Reaching right out to the sand, the dark tiled pools are never crowded thanks to their huge size.
Shaded by towering palm trees and encircled by sun loungers, the W Bali Resort has one of the best pools in Bali for a long day in the sun with your loved ones.
Best Mediterranean Pool in Bali
Bali Mandira Beach
The Bali Mandira Beach Resort and Spa has a magnificent Mediterranean inspired pool right at its centre. Sloping down into the water, it is one of my favourite types of pool where you can lounge in the sun while remaining cool in the water.
Relaxed cosy cabanas sit beside the pool for a touch of shade and a cool drink, with staggering palm trees dotted around.
There is a pool with water slides for the kids, a jacuzzi and infinity pool. You are in for a real tropical experience!
Great Hotel Pool for a Day Visit
The Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan is the perfect place for a luxurious getaway.
The resort features a stunning infinity pool that overlooks the lush greenery of the jungle below and the Ayung River in the distance. The pool is perfect for taking a relaxing dip on hot days, or for having an exciting swim and enjoying the magnificent views.
With a range of sun loungers, umbrellas and towels available, the pool area is a stunning setting to soak up the sun in style. The resort also has a spa, fitness centre and a range of restaurants and bars to choose from, all offering an exceptional quality of service.
Magnificent Tropical Hotel Lagoon
St Regis
Finally, we have my ultimate favourite – The St Regis Bali Resort.
Taking inspiration from Bora Bora, the pool at the St Regis Bali Resort has a lagoon-style, with cabana villas dotted along the edge. Each cabana has direct access to the refreshing waters. For a water-lover, it is a great place to spend a tropical Bali getaway.
You can swim the whole length of the resort in the saltwater lagoon, soak in the sun on the floating pontoon, and take in the lush views of the surrounding gardens.
Forget your worries and turn into a water-baby for a luxurious and memorable stay.
Final Thoughts
Ta-da! That’s 20 hotel pools in Bali worth pruning your fingertips for.
You will never want to leave the cool refreshing waters of these infinity, lagoon and Mediterranean pools.
Whether you get a day pass to one of these noteworthy pools, or stay in the resorts, make sure you snap some pictures! You won’t want to forget the views.
My favourites are definitely the Mediterranean pool in the Bali Mandira Beach Resort and Spa, and the expansive infinity pool at Soori Bali.
