If you search Bali on Google, Seminyak is one of the first recommended places to stay.
How could it not be? It has everything you could possibly need!
From restaurants, beaches, entertainment, museums and shopping malls, you will be hard pressed to be bored here..
Knowing where to stay in Seminyak is the biggest issue. With hostels, private villas and resorts – as well as your usual hotels – it’s easy to get lost, so I’ve made it simple.
Broken down into categories, you will find accommodations, things to do and more for each area!

Double Six – For the Beach Dweller
Beaches aren’t hard to come by on this tropical island. But finding one that is comfortable, safe and easily accessible can be a challenge.
Double Six quickly became one of my favourites in the Seminyak area for the clean sand, calm(ish) ocean and the vast amount of rentable day beds.
Well-known for its sunset bars such as La Plancha, it is also a hub of local business.
There are the surf pros offering lessons, sandy beach bars made up of a cooler box and plastic chairs, and the walking beach sellers bartering massages, bracelets or even bow and arrows!
This can be off-putting for some travellers but I find the Balinese demeanor to be kind, a simple ‘tidak mau’ and they pass on by.
Modern, Island Dream
Sini Vie Villa is a private, modern getaway with beautiful lush surroundings, a glistening private pool and chic style. An ideal setting for a relaxing, peaceful holiday, the selection of 1-bedroom villas make for a magnificent island home.

Anantara Seminyak is a deluxe hotel residing on the beachfront of Double Six. Filled with luxurious amenities including an on-site beachfront restaurant and rooftop bar, you can enjoy Seminyak in style. Each of the private suites are a sumptuous space with ultra-lavish decor and plush furnishings.

Jl. Drupadi – The Middle Ground
Of all the Seminyak neighbourhoods, Jl. Drupadi is definitely the go-to to have easy access to everything.
Seminyak Beach is just a 4 minute drive away, Jl. Kayu Aya is a 15 minute walk and the streets are dotted with spas, mini-markets and restaurants.
The perfect middle ground between hustle and bustle, and peaceful tranquility, Jl. Drupadi is a great place to base a first-time Bali trip.
Wander the streets, enjoy a hard Balinese massage and spend an evening at the beach with a fresh coconut in hand as the sunsets – everything you could wish for for a tropical getaway.
An Affordable Central Hostel in Jl. Drupadi
If you are looking for comfortable but affordable accommodation, in the heart of Seminyak, close by to.. well, everything, then Stellar Capsules is a great option. With a range of mixed or female-only dorms, every traveller will feel safe and secure. Make new friends and explore the beautiful island together.

If you are looking for where to stay in Seminyak that has unbeatable access to restaurants, shopping and bars, look no further.. Jl. Kayu Aya – also known as Eat Street – is for you!
Hosting some of the most popular bars in Seminyak such as La Favela and Red Carpet Champagne Bar, as well as famous restaurants Salazon and The Corner House, Jl. Kayu Aya offers entertainment from morning to night.
A lavish shopping plaza, Seminyak Square sits at the end of the street accommodating both independent and branded stores where you can splash your cash.
Finally finishing up on the beachfront with ultra-luxurious beach clubs, what more could you need?

Petitenget – Best Area for Eating!
Petitenget has recently become one of the noteworthy Seminyak areas for its thriving choice of popular restaurants.
Dotted with trendy cafes to vegan restaurants, there is something for every craving and mood.
Fancy a delicious vegan burger? – head to Kynd.
Wanna dig into greek food? – Nostimo Greek Grill.
A party with pizza? – Da Maria!
Catering to every requirement, Petitenget is a great place to base your island escape.
Leading all the way down to Petitenget Beach, there is an unlimited choice of what to dine on. Join the crowds and explore a tasty adventure!
A Lively Central Hostel in Petitenget
My Capsule Bali
A self-proclaimed party hostel, it has a bar and lively social scene on-site! Just a moment’s drive from Jl. Kayu Aya and encompassed with local warungs, you can explore Seminyak on the cheap. The bunk-beds are comfortable and clean, and there are private bedrooms available too!
Luxurious Tranquil Retreat in Petitenget
Resort life is the best, you have all the luxuries of your own private villa with the friendly unbeatable hospitality of a hotel. Peppers Seminyak is perfectly located in a quiet street in-between Petitenget and Jl. Kayu Aya. Take advantage of the peaceful lavish atmosphere for a serene getaway.

Umalas – A Peaceful Retreat
OK.. I could be biased as I have adopted Umalas as my own island hometown, but if you are looking for a central, peaceful escape – Umalas is your place!
Encompassed by luscious green rice paddy fields and still maintaining touches of real village life, it is the perfect in-between for Seminyak and Canggu.
Filled with quaint cosy cafes, local warungs and, of course, the famous Nook restaurant, it has everything you need to feel at home.
Just a short drive from both Canggu and Seminyak, it has easy access to all the action while being an escape from the crowds – I couldn’t think of a better place to relax.
Join me at my favourite cafe for a tropical breeze and ice-cold coffee.
Modern and Romantic Private Pool Villas in Umalas

Final Thoughts
I’m sure you can see why Seminyak is so popular with tourists, it has literally anything you can think of – and is just a short drive from the airport.
No matter your preferred type of accommodation, you can relax and unwind whilst being just a short walk from the amenities the town is famous for.
Once again, Umalas is very obviously my favourite of the Seminyak neighbourhoods, it is my home.. But if I had to choose somewhere else, I would love to stay in Petitenget for a getaway.
To be surrounded by such amazing food choices.. I wouldn’t know where to start!
