Grab a napkin – you are going to be drooling by the end of this..
We are going to start out with the best breakfast spots!
Hungry Bird For the Early Bird
My morning doesn’t start until I’ve had a coffee, and Hungry Bird is my go-to. Serving up their own blends with beans from around the country, you can’t beat the smooth trickle of caffeine hitting your system. The cosy cafe makes for a great working space, and the sweet cakes perfectly compliment my caffeine high with a dose of sugar. In the heart of Canggu, make this your coffee stop before heading out for the day.
A Nordic Breakfast of Dreams at Copenhagen
OK, I’m going to say it, there is no shortage of amazing breakfast spots in Canggu. It would seem to be the most popular meal of the day among the expats and residents, but Copenhagen’s ‘build your own breakfast’ has a special place in my heart. Rye bread, scrambled eggs and bacon are calling to me. With a vast menu of Western morning favourites, and naughty sweets, you won’t regret heading here for a post-surf feast. From 6.30am to 6pm you can tuck into unforgettable mouthfuls of heaven.
The Loft – From Canggu, With Love
The Loft serves round-the-clock delights, but their breakfast is the real hit. Fresh ingredients are sustainably sourced and prepared with love – cooked in coconut oil – before being beautifully presented. The epic avocado toast, carnivore bowl and gluten-free waffles make for some really tough breakfast contenders. Serving dishes to match every type of diet or requirement, it is a well-rounded, wholesome place to pig out – and let’s not forget to mention the Instagram worthy setting.
Brekkie in the.. Nüde
One of the best restaurants in Canggu for extending breakfast into brunch, Nüde has a huge menu full of everything you could wish for. At the top of my list is their potato rosti stack and filling smoothies. A huge breezy cargo-container turned cafe, CRATE is a place to be seen! I’ve purposefully placed it here as although it is one of the hotspot restaurants in Canggu for breakfast, their salad bowls are undeniably delicious. The menu is presented proudly on the walls, with their pay-first system making sure it is a smooth and speedy experience – if you need it to be. Take a seat at one of the sprawling benches or comfortable sofas and dig into your tasty meal. A small concept store is located in the cafe for some enjoyable spending, supporting some local independent brands.

Hold onto your seats, just a few more to go..
Actually, I am Vegan Babe
Sitting at the top of my list of restaurants for every vegan and vegetarian to visit is I am Vegan Babe. From the sassy name alone it is intriguing, but the menu will have your floored. The breakfasts are for champions with everything from oats to tacos to full-cooked breakfasts. Their smoothie and salad bowls are unmatched, while their extensive lunch menu will have you considering your options for quite a while. Even the non-vegans will be able to enjoy this incredible spot.
Hands Up, This is the Plant Cartel
If you are searching for the plant-based burger of dreams, look no further, this is where your dreams come true. Soft buns, vegetarian patties and fresh toppings make for the most satisfying, earth friendly, burger on the island. Fill up on the tasty sides of mac and cheese or cauli-buffalo wings, all with no guilt. A great option for the veggie crew, suit up and join the Plant Cartel.
The Shady Shack is a Little Old Place Where..
You won’t find fresher delights than at Shady Shack. Located on Batu Bolong, just a short drive from the beach and hotspots of the town, you can stop off for a filling and delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner before heading out into the crowds.
A Whole Cafe Dedicated to Avocados
Not to be controversial, but I’m not a huge fan of avocados..- cue sharp intake of breath. But after a visit to the Avocado Factory, I am pleased to say I am – slightly – converted. Avocado hummus with pita bread, stacking avo onto my burger and smothering it in sauce, totally delicious! The majestic fruit is the heart and soul of this quaint luscious restaurant and deserves some attention from even the most unconvinced of avo-tasters. Blended in drinks, decorated into a rose and thinly sliced into a salad, every imaginable way is served at this avocado haven.
